Storytime Yoga

I do some easy yoga poses with my storytime kids each week.  We do cat and cow and "baby" (child's pose) and make lots of fun noises.  The kids love it and so do the parents.

I've been working on forward bending with the preschoolers, because their first instinct is to bend their knees when we fold over to touch our toes.  I tell them to keep their legs straight when they reach for their toes, and to not worry about actually touching them.  Last week we were reaching for our toes and I reminded them again to not worry about touching their toes, because sometimes I can't either.  So of course one of my silliest, sweetest girls crawled over and said, "Here, Miss Reno," while grabbing my wrists and yanking so my fingertips could reach my toes.

My kids are so helpful.  :)

THE RAGE

A co-worker showed me this cover a few weeks ago and I was like, "WUT."

I'll update as I find more, because this is ridiculous.

Exercise Caution

This morning I was googling 'mrs. hughes toaster' because Carson's reaction to it was awesome, and I accidentally read a huge Downton Abbey spoiler.  I hate the internet.

Who am I kidding, I love the internet:  Mrs. Hughes' Toaster.

Library Stories: William Kamkwamba

Libraries change lives.  I advocate for libraries not just because I'm a librarian, but because I witness how important they are every day.  This is an extraordinary story.

Veterans Day

My grandpa Fogelberg was a Veteran of World War II.  We called him Original Grandpa to differentiate him from my great-grandpa, who lived with my grandparents.  He worked on planes and painted a few sexy ladies on the sides.  He was a fantastic artist and worked as an illustrator at Ford Motor Company after he got back from the war and married my grandma.  An all around cool guy whose memory I honor today.  grandmagrandpa0001

We got married and it was amazing.  I wish I could do it all over again.

I do not miss wedding planning, though.  I didn't read a single book outside of storytime picture books for the entire summer.  I'm very happy to get back to my life, which I hope includes blogging every once in awhile.  In the meantime, I will catch up my favorite blogs, read some good books, and enjoy being a married lady.

It's good to be back.
